Meet John Vogel
John Vogel is a father, husband, public servant, and community volunteer who is deeply concerned with the direction the State of California is heading.
John is a graduate of the University of Houston, Clear Lake, with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
John moved to California in the early 1990s with the hopes of planting roots in a prosperous and business-friendly state, but soon found that politicians bought by special interests were more concerned about benefiting their benefactors than representing the people who voted for them.
John worked for the City of San Diego for 17 years in the I.T. Department before forming his own small business for a short stint. Currently, John works for the County of San Diego’s ConnectWellSD Technical Domain Lead under the Health & Human Services Agency.
As a volunteer, John has served on the City of Chula Vista’s Parks and Recreation Committee, as Cubmaster for Pack 810 (Chula Vista), as President of the National Management Association (City of San Diego), as a tutor for Metro Tutors, and is active in his church. John is also a 2008 graduate of the Chula Vista Leadership Academy.
John is fluent in both English and Spanish.
